The interest in the Gulfport City redistricting plan continues to gather steam and interest. Councilman R.Lee Flowers and Councilwoman Cara Pucheu are holding an information session today for concerned citizens with information on how the plans may benefit them.
The information session is scheduled at the Lyman Community Center at 6:00pm today with a public hearing at City Hall Friday at 6 p.m. to further discuss redistricting.
In a weekly newsletter to his ward over the weekend, Councilman Flowers said Thursday’s session would offer citizens “one-on-one time with council members and the city planner hired to draw the (redistricting) maps. We will have the proposed maps on display. It will be a very informal gathering giving the people of wards 6 and 7 an opportunity to interact with their council members and learn more about this extremely important topic,” said Flowers.
