There’s a lot of new music this week as The Ambassador releases Stop the Funeral and DC-based artist Robert E. Person releases his much anticipated CD, Soul Sanctuary. Contemporary Christian artists Point of Grace also make their return with Turn up the Music. Here’s a look at what’s new:
The Ambassador: Stop the Funeral. The founding member of The Cross Movement returns with his third album of Christian hip-hop. Guest appearances include Canton Jones and KJ-52.
Robert E. Person: Soul Sanctuary. Fans of the artist will have a chance to add another jewel to their Robert E. Person musical collection with the release of his new project, Soul Sanctuary. The album is filled with ballads, which allow the vocalist to shine, and upbeat praise tracks. The lead single from the CD is Donny Hathaway’s inspirational ballad, “Someday We’ll All Be Free.”
Theresa Pinkney: Me Against the World. The Duke Ellington School of the Arts graduate makes her debut with a 15-track project that is filled with a mixture of urban, R&B, pop and dance styles, yet it is fully gospel.
Patrick Cooper: The Way It Used to Be. The musical director at his local church, Cooper’s sophomore jazz project is filled with songs that encourage the listener to recall a much simpler time. Smooth and easy music that any listener will enjoy.
Point of Grace: Turn Up the Music. The platinum-selling recording artists’ compilation CD album features many of their classic hits, in addition to one new track, “Hole in the World.”
Matt Redman: 10,000 Reasons. The prolific and very popular worship leader and songwriter releases his 11th album. The album was recorded live at the LIFT Conference in Atlanta in February 2011.
Sidewalk Prophets: These Simple Truths. Like most of the band’s recordings, the focus is to help people embrace the uniqueness God has given them. The lead single, “The Words I Would Say,” was released last month.
Jessica Reedy: “Put It on the Altar.” The single is from Reedy’s upcoming album From the Heart, which will be released September 27. Available for iTunes download.
