8/28/11 – Busy weekend working on the fence for the 1st yard. We are just about finished. Tension wire and barbwire should be going in today. We are waiting on the correct hinges and hardware for our gates. Here is quick video of some of the pups out in the new yard. Each of our yards will cost between 5- $7,000.00 in materials. Yards can be sponsored so please consider donating to a more than worthy cause, our pitbulls.
8/30/11- “Tails in the Hood” is neutering a sweet one year old Pit named Shadow this morning. His owner brought him in to the Ark last Friday while I happened to be there checking on my pups. The dog had some nasty flea bites and allergies. This young man was getting him checked out by the vet. I noticed he wasn’t fixed. I had a short conversation and he is getting fixed today. I will also provide shadow with a six month supply of Advantage for his fleas. See the picture of Shadow at the Vet today in the picture area. One pit at a time, we make progress.
We will be hitting Atlanta tonight. Our friend Spyder (we treated his pup for Parvo a few months back) landed his ass in jail. His cousin Demarco is stepping up to take care of his pups. We fixed Demarcos dog Cush a while back. He is in need of some food for the dogs. It’s all about the follow through. “Tails in the Hood” rides again.
8/31/11 – We had a really busy few weeks. We finally have our first section fence complete (except for the barbwire) The dogs are now getting to enjoy the place. Tim from action fence has been amazing. If you are looking for a fence in the Atlanta area, this is your man. Here’s a quick Video of Tim with some of my pack. Even my difficult dog Melony, seemed to enjoy his company.
We had to run on out on a “Tails in the Hood” mission last night. Our friend Spyder landed himself in Jail. His cousin Demarco has stepped up to take care of all of his dogs. “Tails in the Hood” has fixed all of their dogs. He needed some food to take care of Spyder’s pups, so we were on our way.
We also took the opportunity to stop by and check up on our 3 Parvo pups, Ice, Ace and Dash. They all look great. Heres some dark video from the I phone. We will be vaccinating and making appointments for all three to get fixed next week. Click each dogs name to see their video Icey, Ace and Dash.
Rescue-Wear t-shirts and tank tops are almost gone. We are getting ready for our fall and winter gear so get yours before they are gone.
I appreciate your support and donations are always needed and appreciated.

Jason’s motto: “I always thought someone should do something about that… then I realized I am that someone.”
Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue is a wonderful rescue in Georgia that is Atlanta based. That does not stop Jason Flatt from working just about all of Georgia and even then some. Jason has a great network of fosters and friends that have helped him along the way. It is with these connections that so many dogs have been helped by the hands of Jason Flatt. Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue not only helps injured, sick, and perfectly well pitbulls and other breeds but it also helps educate kids and people on better ways of taking care of their dogs. Jason goes into underprivileged areas of Atlanta that are prone to dog fighting and helps spread the good word to not participate in those activities. He also helps provide spay /neuter and vaccinations for the dogs as well. This helps the community that otherwise would not receive it, thus creating more unwanted dogs and more shelters having to euthanize pit bulls. Jason Flatt has created the “Tails in the Hood” explaining about his adventures with saving pitbulls to show the community as well as others around the U.S. just what he does. He wants people to understand the importance of their actions. Actions speak louder than words so spay and neuter your pets.
Friends to the Forlorn Can always use donations. They can be volunteer, foster, monetary or even for particular items. Donations are used for medical treatments for the dogs, buying necessary equipment for transports, training or rescuing, buying food, boarding, professional temperament evaluations, transportation expenses, and vaccinations and spay & neutering. For monetary donations online please utilize Paypal using the email address of email@example.com. Checks can also be made to:
