The West Chester Parks & Recreation Department hosts Swingin’ Summer Thursdays on the first Thursday of each month through September. The musical lineup for the remainder of the summer is as follows:
August 4: Pop Night, featuring Drive 26 & KAPOW
September 1: World Night with Animus
This street festival also includes food, clowns, dancers & more! Swingin’ Summer Thursdays begin at 6:30 pm on Gay Street in downtown West Chester, PA between High & Darlington Streets. The festivities end at 9:30 pm. Free garage parking is available at the Justice Center Garage on Market Street between New & Darlington Streets. The West Goshen Community Park will also be hosting a summer concert series through August 21st. The upcoming performances include Motown with The New Special Blendz on Sunday, August 7th and The US Navy Jazz Band & The Commodores on Sunday, August 21st.
Performances begin at 6:30 pm at the West Goshen Community Park, located at N. Five Points & Fern Hill Roads in West Goshen, PA, at the J. Leon Hagerty Amphitheater. In the event of rain, the concerts will take place at the West Chester East High School. Final location will be determined at 3 pm on the days of the concerts. Admission to the concerts is free. However, they do ask that you bring a dry good donation to benefit the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center & the West Chester Food Bank. Finally, Exton, PA will host free concerts at the 11th annual Eagleview Town Center’s “Concerts on the Square” every Tuesday through the end of August from 7 pm until 9 pm. The lineup for the remainder of the summer is as follows:
August 2: Los Straitjackets with special guest The Darby Trials
August 9: Band of Heathens with special guest Brian Flanagan
August 16: Bobby Long with special guest Cheyenne Marie Mize
August 23: US Rails with special guest Joel Plaskett
August 30: Entrain (fireworks to follow this concert in celebration of the finale of the series)
