It’s hard to find things to do for free or at least cheap when you have a family with several kids. Eating out can be expensive and so can the movies. Luckily Grand Rapids has a lot to offer to help you out.
One opportunity that you have coming up is part of National Night Out. That is the event that is designed to be a unique crime/drug prevention strategy. Over 15,000 communities were involved in it last year. Every town and group offer different options for you to participate in.
This year you may want to head to the Salvation Army Kroc Center. They have a great family movie night planned for you. Aside from the movie they’ll be showing you can also enjoy games and crowd activities. But when 9 pm comes you and the kids will have the chance to watch Gnome & Juliet. Because it’s a late night you’ll want to make sure the kids are well prepared.
This event will happen on August 2nd. They are located at 2500 S. Division Avenue. The movie will be shown in their new outdoor amphitheatre. If you really enjoy the experience you can come back on August 19th for another one! They’ll be showing How to Train Your Dragon that night.
