Merced Mall’s Summer Music Series presents Golden Bough, Saturday, August 6, 6-8 p.m.
For 30 years, Golden Bough has brought the Celtic music of Ireland and Scotland to enthusiastic fans throughout the United States and Europe, as well as Japan.
Their interpretation of this music has made them a favorite with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, gaining critical acclaim from folk fans wherever they perform.
Besides the music of the better-known Celtic countries of Ireland and Scotland, Golden Bough also performs music from the lesser known regions of Wales, Cornwall, The Isle of Man, French Brittany and Galicia in Spain.
Blending their voices in three-part harmony, Margie Butler, Kathy Sierra and Paul Espinoza deliver ballads, lively sing-along and beautiful a capella pieces while backing themselves with the Celtic harp, guitar, penny-whistle, recorder, violin, viola, octave-mandolin, accordion, and bodhran (Irish hand drum).
All performances are free. For more info, visit www.MercedMall.com or call 723-3981.
