The week started with six urgent dogs at The New Haven Animal Shelter. Now there are four. Unless Pink, Gifford, Lexi and Dancer have homes or are pulled by a rescue by September 5, 2011, they will lose their lives first thing the next morning.
Pink is a beautiful, young, athletic girl who loves to play fetch. She would be perfectly suited to an active family with older children. Pink lived with another dog once, so the odds are that she would be fine living with one again.
Gifford is approximately two years old. He is gentle and loving. Gifford is eager to please and is attentive to his handlers. He loves to play with toys and can amuse himself with them. Gifford may be good with other dogs ~ he hasn’t really paid any attention to the ones he sees at the shelter.
Lexi is about three years old and has spent the last six months at the shelter. She is playful, affectionate and very sweet. Lexi has lived with another dog and would be best in a home with older children.
Dancer looks like a tough guy, but he is full of love and kisses and just wants to snuggle. He is about three years old and has been at the shelter for months. He seems happy to meet other dogs and has even given kisses to them through the fence!
If you are thinking about adopting a dog, this may be a perfect opportunity to truly save a life when taking one of these deserving animals into your home.
