Foster Parents; Heritage?
Part 5 of 5.
In this series, we are talking about heritage, and how we as foster parents can assist these precious little children with memories, heritage. How do we try to ensure they have their heritage to carry with them into their future? Remember, what the word heritage means?
History historia, meaning “inquiry, knowledge acquired by investigation”, the study of the human past.
Heritage refers to something inherited from the past this word has several different senses.
You see, there is a world of difference between the meanings of these two words, meanings not even one of us ever quite understood the significance of.
Take the time to look at the complete definition of heritage in part 1 of this series. Comprehend the terrible mistakes we are making in depriving these children of this important part of their lives, fair or damaging our society is robbing children of their heritage.
Missing from their memory book will be history of Grandparents, Uncle’s, Aunts and other distant relatives, and genealogy. These children will have lost their heritage. God teaches daily basis, now to your examiner the word heritage has a deeper meaning to me now and represents what our foster children are losing along with their parents.
- This experience although not altering my path it has expanded my knowledge, my ability to grasp the feelings of a foster children. This is why your examiner now understands the word heritage, part of my heritage is lost now in the hands of someone who it means little to except possessions, demonstrated by oil paintings painted by my mother tossed in the trash bin, heritage became ashes.
- God bless foster parents who continue to add to that precious little past left to these children, preserving it for generations to come. With God’s help, we can transform the paths they will follow in their lives, change directions to a different direction than their parents have taken. A better path, one of love! Guide us to have a hand in raising children accepted for who they are by showing them what support actually is.
God bless her….my brother died the morning after we left, and she made this statement “now all ties are separated forever”.
There are members of this side of the family that are dear to me that have a forever place in my heart, due to exposure to this person, separation is mutual. Life is a learning process, God help us to continue growing and learning what you would have us to understand. Does forgiveness include ignorance, and having forgiven someone does that mean you throw them a knife and turn your back on them? Kind of like CPS.
Thank you for your attention, your Examiner appreciates it. Suggested reading The Importance of Heritage Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4. See you next time.
