Keith Foster parenting “is a calling” according to Andrea Walker, intake coordinator for Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina.
Keith Henry, executive vice president for programs and services at Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, said he’s seen newspaper ad that offer “a little extra money” as an attraction to become foster care parents.
While the stipend for foster parenting is about $600 monthly, depending on a child’s age and behavior level, Henry said his agency “wants to attract families who see this is a ministry, not as a way to earn extra money.

We wonder if this person has considered these questions, if churches provide some a filter, is this person saying that those who attend church are immune to the tendency to become foster parents for the wrong reasons. What of those who take up a call to service, volunteer to serve as foster parents, who will provide them a filter? Will the church offer them legal protection, protection against allegations? Hate to be the one to burst his bubble, because foster parents are going through a church will not make any difference to CPS, his filter will not work. We will explain that statement a little later in the series.
- Here, is an intriguing thought, since this Church is in NC let us see what the qualifications are in the state of NC. Note; we are not picking on NC.
- Note; we do not quote statutes and codes in their entirety, research pertaining to our subject.
