Tuscon, AZ – There was an outpouring of love and support for a former explosives dog named Arco. The dog, a 5 yr-old German shepherd, found himself in a precarious situation after he killed a neighborhood cat.
The one-time cat killing incident, while tragic for the cat, was not completely shocking for a breed of dog known to possess a high prey drive.
Regardless, the incident happened and Arco was slapped with a “dangerous” label that put his life at risk.
I’m pleased to report that this handsome boy has been spoken for by a rescue organization in Tuscon, Arizona.
Rescued Helpers Inc., a 501(c)3 organization specializing in providing services for both America’s Veterans facing homelessness and German shepherds and Labrador K-9s that are pulled from kill shelters Nationwide.
In other words, Arco is going to be in excellent, knowledgeable hands.
Right now, one piece of the puzzle needs to fall into place to bring this gorgeous boy to the rescue who will find an excellent, forever home – help with travel expenses.
Flight arrangements were made for Arco – he was to be flown from Green Bay Wisconsin to Tuscon, AZ – but the massive heatwave which has spread across the nation squashed those plans.
The airlines have restricted the flying of dogs across these states affected by the incredible heat.
In lieu of flying, the rescue has lined up a drive (one of their own family members) to drive cross country with Arco. This compassionate individual is driving from Tuscon, to Green Bay, and all the way back – amazing.
The rescue is hoping to help raise $350 to assist in covering the fuel costs associated with the cross-country transport.
Anyone hoping to help Arco and his rescue organization make this transport possible is asked to make a tax-deductible donation at this link to Rescued Helpers Inc.
If you shared Arco’s story initially – please take a moment to share this wonderful news. Arco is safe.
Thank you Rescued Helpers Inc.!
