Decatur, Indiana-based Fleetwood RV launched their new 2012 Storm “crossover” motor home yesterday. The Storm features an innovative “Hide-a-Loft” queen-sized, electric drop-down bed with an air mattress which is located above the driver/passenger captain’s chairs. This enhanced sleeping capacity – more commonly associated with Class C motor homes – is a key selling point of the Fleetwood Storm series of Class A Recreational Vehicles. The Hide-a-Loft is an available option on all floor plans of the 2012 Storm moho which retails for around $82,000.
“Storm is a unique motor home because it includes the best aspects of both a Class A and a Class C motor home,” said John Draheim, President and CEO of Fleetwood RV, Inc. “It’s a coach that is loaded with standard features, and offered at a value that appeals to a wide range of RVers.”
The 2012 Storm is available in five floor plans: a 28-foot rear-slide floor plan with a walk-around queen bed (28F); a 28-foot single-slide, rear bedroom floor plan with an oversized wrap-around booth dinette (28MS); a 31-foot dual-slide, side-aisle floor plan with opposing dinette/sofa in the living room (30SA); a 31-foot dual-slide floor plan with standard bunk beds or the optional “Bunk Bed-n-Breakfast” space-saving two-person dinette with convertible bunk beds (32BH); and a 32-foot dual-slide floor plan with a 40” mid-ship TV and 30” deep living area slide-out box (32V).
Standard features on the 2012 Storm include one-piece windshield, 82” interior height; Soft Touch Flexsteel® driver/passenger captain’s chairs; Soft Touch Flexsteel® sofa; convertible Dream Dinette with two cup holders; 26” LCD wide-screen TV with DVD player; full extension drawer guides and transit-ship locks; high-gloss fiberglass sidewalls; full basement exterior with enclosed, heated holding tanks and luggage compartments; pass-through storage; Onan® 4.0 kw MicroQuiet generator;15,000-BTU ducted air conditioner; patio awning; rear vision camera with monitor built in to the dash radio; power heated remote mirrors; power entry step; black tank sani-flush; exterior shower; Fan-Tastic power roof vent; dual deep cycle auxiliary batteries; one-inch (inside diameter) water tank drain; and whole coach water filtration.
Fleetwood RV also announced the nationwide rollout of its 2012 Jamboree Searcher and Tioga Montara Class C gas motor homes. The Fleetwood Searcher and Montara – introduced last year – are available in three floor plans, including a 22-foot, a 23-foot and an all new, 25-foot model. The units retail for approximately $64,190. Both the Searcher and Montara include hardwood cabinet doors, high-gloss smooth fiberglass exterior, a one-piece molded fiberglass front cap, and a full basement exterior with pass-through storage as well as a cab-over bed, a spacious dinette and full bath with shower.
The 22-foot model has the option of a front 26″ LCD TV. The 23-foot model includes a queen bed as well as an optional 19″ LCD TV. This year’s new, 25-foot model also includes a queen bed, as well as a free-standing recliner and options including a 3-burner range with oven, bedroom 19″ LCD TV and front 26″ LCD TV.
