Saying goodbye is never easy, except when the change of seasons is ushered in with a celebration like the second annual Race to the End of Summer on September 18. So join your fellow local runners and bid farewell to another summer in style with a scenic run along the Coyote Creek Trail in San Jose.
In addition to the 5K and 10K races, this year’s event features a new 1K kids’ fun run, plus a half marathon distance as part of the Northern California Half Marathon Series, which was created to enhance the sport of running across the Northern part of California. Participants are runners of all levels who want to further their abilities by running for a series finisher medal or for points and prizes.
The 5K, 10K and half marathon will be chip-timed and sanctioned by the USATF, and the courses are flat, fast and suitable for runners and walkers of any level. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, and Shoes 4 The City will also be present at the event accepting shoe donations. Additional registration will be available at packet pick-up on the Friday and Saturday before the race, if any remaining spots are available.
