Welcome news today for all 3DS Ambassadors as Nintendo Announces the final five free NES games. In just two days early 3DS owners-dubbed “3DS Ambassadors” by Nintendo-will be receiving the first half of Nintendo’s supplication of 20 free games. These first ten games are all NES titles that Nintendo plans to later release via the eshop. The second set of ten games will be GBA titles (that Nintendo has stated will not be released for purchase) that include the following: Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare Inc. Mega Microgames, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror.
Starting September 1st the previously announced NES titles (Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Balloon Fight, Ice Climbers, and Donkey Kong Jr.) and the five just announced titles will be available for download via the eshop (obviously only for 3DS Ambassadors). And now what you’ve all been waiting (and probably just scrolled down to this point) for, the final five NES titles are:
NES Open Tournament Golf
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Well there you have it 3DS Ambassadors (which most of my Chicago StreetPassing friends are), the full list of free NES games that will be made available starting Thursday September 1st. With seven of the ten GBA games already confirmed that just leaves three unknown GBA titles left with some of the most desired potential titles including The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap and Pokemon Emerald.
So how do you all feel about the final five revealed NES titles? Any title you really wish would’ve made the cut (StarTropics for me)? Any titles that you find really unimpressive? I’m not sure about all of you, but with the new school year starting (for the lucky people still in college) I’m excited to walk around Roger’s Park and through Loyola’s campus to grab a few StreetPasses and see which games my fellow Chicagoans seem to enjoy playing the most.
