Fashions Night Out is one week away! There are hundreds of amazing events going on in the city on September 8, 2011, so we have been sifting through all of our invitations to highlight some of the events for you.
- Santiago Barberi Gonzalez, son of Nancy Gonzalez and president of the brand, will be at Bergdorf Goodman’s FNO celebration participating in the BG Best of Show Designer Dog Show! In addition to judging the show, he is creating a customized Nancy Gonzalez crocodile collar and leash for the winning designer’s dog! Bergdorf Goodman Third Floor 7PM-8PM. Designers and their canine companions hit the catwalk with host James Aguiar and guest judges Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa, Santiago Gonzalez, Naeem Khan, and The BagSnob’s Tina Craig. Designers: Alexandra Vidal, Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Cushnie & Ochs, John Barrett, Joseph Altuzarra, Kimberly McDonald, Laurance Dacade, Lela Rose, Nicholas Varney, Pamella Roland, Reem Acra and Wes Gordon. - In celebration of Fashion’s Night Out, Tracy Reese presents a night of music, dancing, and fashion at her flagship boutique in New York’s Meatpacking District. Tracy will host her 2nd annual FNO dance-a-thon, inviting guests to show-off their best moves, in the boutique and even in the store’s windows, with DJ Tyger Lilly to keep the music going all night. Tracy Reese and DJ Tyger Lilly will judge the dance-a-thon and prizes will be awarded to the evening’s best dancers. Those not up for dancing can enjoy the music and wine from Clos du Bois while shopping the night away. Guests who spend more than $300 will automatically be entered in a raffle to win a TR FNO prize package. Tracy will also be taking part in the FNO Barbie Scavenger Hunt. In partnership with Mattel and a few other designers, A Gray Line double-decker bus will chauffeur riders around Manhattan while they visit various stores celebrating FNO, including Tracy Reese. As the bus stops at the store, participants can take part in a scavenger hunt, providing the opportunity to get dolled up. Ther will be signage to display a custom-branded QR code that, when scanned, will direct participants to barbielovesfno.com, where they can enter for a chance to win Barbie’s favorite fall looks.
- Join the Fashion’s Night Out festivities by entering Milly’s Facebook contest — “The Ultimate Milly Fashion Week Experience.” Enter to win two tickets to the Spring 2012 runway show, a meet and greet with Milly designer Michelle Smith backstage and a gift package worth $1000 from the boutique! Log off and join the fun in person! From 7 to 8 p.m., Michelle will head to the Upper East Side to the new Milly Flagship Boutique at 900 Madison Avenue where shoppers can sip champagne and participate in the “Best Milly Look” contest by styling FNO merchandise with pieces from the Millycollection to win a Milly Boutique gift card. (3:00 p.m. – close) SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS has partnered with one of New York’s most notable retailers, Henri Bendel, on a series of Fashion’s Night out activities ranging from crystallized makeovers by Frédéric Fekkai to a dazzling tattoo parlor, each transforming the store into a crystal wonderland. On September 8 , 2011 the acclaimed 5th Avenue flagship will sparkle from head-to-toe with the help of Swarovski, making it a must-stop shopping destination for Fashion’s Night Out. Adding sparkle to the night’s festivities, the Austrian crystal company will transform the first floor of Henri Bendel for Fashion’s Night Out – the focal point is an opulent Swarovski Crystal Palace chandelier, titled “Cascade” by Vincent Van Duysen, standing 14 feet tall waiting to greet shoppers in the atrium as they enter off 5th Avenue. For the past 75 years, Swarovski has had a deep-rooted history in stage and screen projects, ranging from movies to Broadway and beyond. To celebrate Swarovski’s commitment to the arts, a special display of eight costumes made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, from Phantom of the Opera, designed by Tony Award winning costume designer Alexandra Byrne, and NINE, designed by Oscar winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, will be a part of the décor. The dazzling interiors and costumes will be on exhibit beyond New York Fashion Week at Henri Bendel, culminating September 19. Shoppers will be able to get a head start on prepping for their evening, beginning at 3 p.m., with crystallized beauty makeovers by Frédéric Fekkai. Services include manicures and hair styling, all infused with the sparkle of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. After being pampered, visitors can purchase exclusive Fashion’s Night Out gear, including limited-edition FNO shirts adorned with black diamond and fuchsia crystal. Tattoo techs will be on-site showing the versatility crystal on live models; A live tattoo tech will be in the 5th Avenue windows from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for passersby to catch a glimmer of the night’s events. Special Henri Bendel tattoos made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS will be available for purchase throughout the night and artists will be on hand to apply them to guests.
