Besides the tears, the drama, the re-released sex tape, and the cat fights over models fans tune into ‘Project Runway’ to see amazing fashions from emerging fashion designers. And now fans have the chance to own the designs they see on the award winning reality television fashion competition.
The designs seen on the premier episode of ‘Project Runway: Season Nine’ are currently up for auction. The challenge for this first episode, known as the “Come as you are” challenge, was for designers to create a look using only the pajamas they were wearing for their first night in New York City’s Atlas apartments and one white bed sheet from their beds.
The designers, on variously uneven footing depending on whatever they happened to have worn to bed the night before, had limited access to buttons, lace detailing, and fabric dye. The top design of this challenge was created by Bert Keeter, a former fashion designer who is just getting back into the industry. Using his red-checked boxer shorts and dyed bed sheet fabric he created an asymmetrical dress. This dress is currently leading the auction with the modest bid price of $45. The majority of the looks up for auction have no bids as of yet, with the rest coming in around $40. The looks that catapulted designers Anya Ayoung Chee and Anthony Ryan Auld into the top 3 with Bert Keeter all have bids on them.

The auction is being held through Seen On, who also offer a host of other ‘Project Runway’ merchandise from Tim Gunn quote t-shirts to dress forms and design software like those seen on the hit show. The same site was also behind the auctions for the wedding dresses former ‘Project Runway’ fashion designers had created for Kate Middleton’s royal wedding. They have just released a new line of t-shirts for both men and women specifically for season nine.
