Brows, brows and more brows – the trend for Fall 2011 is bushy, heavy brows. Brows accentuate the eye and soften the overall appearance of the face.
If you want to grow your brows in heavier to be on trend this season, you will need to let your brows go for 6-8 weeks. Here are some tips to accelerate the growth process:
- Use a small brow brush twice daily to massage brows gently in the direction of growth using circular motions towards the outside of the face.
- Brow hair is comprised of keratin thus conditioning brows will speed growth of healthy new hair. Try applying Jamaican Black castor oil to the brows prior to brushing/massaging to produce fuller, thicker brows. Many essential oils such as Basil and Rosemary stimulate the hair follicle. Add 2-3 drops to castor oil for maximum results.
A woman’s brows and lips frame the face and should not be overlooked during makeup application. Full dark, brows and lips with color are a sign of youth, apply makeup to these areas before applying eye color or blush. Adding color and dimension to your brows will assist in the appearance of fuller, thicker brows. Use a tapered eyebrow brush with powder to give you more control with the depth of color. Use a taupe, dark brown or black powder based on your hair color.
Vampy lips in bold colors such as orange/red/berry colors were rampant on the runways in Milan this week. To obtain this look apply concealer to the lips and set with powder. Outline and fill lips with a lip pencil/definer in a shade close to your lipstick color and then apply lip color on top of the pencil and blot lips with a tissue. Reapply lipstick or gloss for a semi-matte lip with longevity. (my favorite is Diminish Concealer by Mirabella Beauty which also doubles as a great eye shadow base!)
Nude makeup – Natural and radiant is the key to the nude makeup trend this Fall. Make sure your foundation is a perfect match to your skin tone, try using Mirabella Beauty’s Foundations which are scientifically matched using the Fitzpatrick System based on your genetic disposition, tanning habits and how your skin reacts to the sun. Edgy French Manicure – This look was spotted at the Tibi Fall Fashion show and is my personal favorite! Try using a bright fuchsia, fiery orange, dark plum or pale peach. You can achieve this look with colored acrylic powder for a manicure that looks flawless for 3-4 weeks.
