Elizabeth Banks has joined the cast of What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
Based on the best-selling pregnancy guide, What to Expect will follow several interconnected couples, all of whom are expecting a child. Banks is set to play a baby-obsessed author of a book on breastfeeding and the owner of a baby-focused boutique. Her views on motherhood are tossed upside-down when she becomes pregnant for the first time.
Banks, who is currently filming Lionsgate’s adaptation of The Hunger Games, now joins an all-star cast that includes Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Kendrick, Chris Rock, Brooklyn Decker, and Rodrigo Santoro.
Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee) is directing from a script by Heather Hach and re-written by Shauna Cross (Whip It!). Production is set to begin later this summer.
What to Expect When You’re Expecting hits theaters May 11, 2012.
