On July 27, 2011, Diane Diamond covered the case of missing 11-year-old New Hampshire girl, Celina Cass who disappeared from her bedroom on July 25, 2011. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has classified Celina’s case as “endangered missing” and authorities have utilized a number of methods to search for the child. On July 27, 2011, the FBI officially became involved in the investigation. According to reports from Celina’s family, she was last seen Monday night at 9:00 pm while at her computer in her bedroom, her parents told her goodnight, and on Tuesday morning she was gone.
An active search has been conducted in the area surrounding Celina’s home, located in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire. Authorities have asked for members of Celina’s community to notify them of any activity they recall involving Celina during Sunday and Monday. Diane Diamond spoke with editor of the “Colebrook Chronicle,” Charlie Jordan.
Jordan spoke to Diamond about the search for Celina that encompassed, ground, air and land. She asked if the search was over. He replied, “I think, Diane, what`s happened here is they`ve kind of shifted gears a little bit. They`re continuing on with the search, but about, I would say, 4:30 this afternoon, the case took a dramatic change. Suddenly, law enforcement, which has set up a command post about two doors down from the family`s home, walked up to the home with police tape, asked everyone to leave, and proceeded to surround the house with police tape.
“Now, the difficulty here is the police have not been able to talk very much to the media or the family. So we`ve left a lot to conjecture.”
Jordan also spoke of Cass’ normal routine and how the sudden disappearance was out of character for the fifth grader. “This is not a typical pattern of behavior for her. We had an interview today where — we saw, actually, an interview today with the superintendent of schools, and Celina is identified as a very well- liked student. She`s an athlete. Many of the pictures that have been circulated show her in her basketball jersey.”
Celina Cass stands 5’5 and weighs 95 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes and was last seen wearing blue shorts with a pink shirt. If you have any information regarding Celina Cass and her disappearance please contact theNational Center for Missing & Exploited Children
