An Arkansas man is happy that is home is now safe after he witnessed two men burglarizing his house while he was flying over the property.
Steve Lynn of Bay Arkansas, was flying in a Cessna with a buddy when he spotted two men loading things up from his house, reports KSPR.com.
“Someone’s at your house, man—look, the yard,” said Lynn’s friend.
Lynn then called his uncle and the police, both of which arrived after the thieves were gone. However, the chase had just begun.
“It was wild”, said Lynn. “One of the most wild things I’ve ever experienced— seeing someone rob my house and the whole chase, it was like being on cops.”
Lynn and his buddy followed the burglars in the plane, giving police turn-by-turn instructions until they finally caught up with the thieves just two miles away.
“They were giving us turn by turn directions and giving us a description by county road,” said Deputy Sheriff Phillip Wheaton.
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Peel and Roosevelt Smith III and charged them with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property.
“I kinda felt helpless, watching someone from an airplane, stealing from ya”, said Lynn.
