The much-anticipated launch of Christian Movie Connect (CMC), the newest Christian video podcast to hit the World Wide Web, is good to go on July 27, 2011. The brainchild of faith-based film producer and media personality Cheryl Wicker, CMC promises to present viewers with top-notch news and interviews of quality faith-based films and Christian entertainment and media personalities every Wednesday on ChristianMovieConnect.com. For its premiere presentation, CMC will feature “Dukes of Hazzard” and “Smallville” actor John Schneider, who will talk about his upcoming movie, “Doonby.”
Host Cheryl Wicker’s active presence in major Christian movie events makes it possible for CMC podcasts to offer an impressive roster of interviewees considered the who’s who in the Christian film industry. In these venues, Wicker will offer viewers a chance to get to know Christian film newsmakers better with insightful and informative interviews. These events include the recently concluded International Christian Visual Media Catalyst Conference and the National Religious Broadcasters Convention. In April this year, she attended the Biola Media Conference, an annual event aimed at giving film students and veteran media professionals an opportunity to come together and exchange ideas, held in Los Angeles.
On August 7-12, 2011, Wicker will once again take CMC viewers to another round of interview sessions with the Christian world’s influential personalities when she covers the 2011 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival, an event that aims to honor God’s Word in various types of media. Special daily podcasts will be uploaded directly from the conference venue.
“As a producer of faith-based, family friendly and life affirming films, I am an advocate for Christian movies and clean, values-based entertainment. Through positive films, we can inspire movie goers…but greater still, we can promote time-tested values to the culture at large,” says Wicker, an award-winning faith-based and family friendly movie producer whose most notable film, “Flag of My Father,” starring John Schneider, GiGi Erneta and William Devane, was honored the Best Narrative Feature Award at the 2011 GI Film Festival. As a celebrity interviewer, Wicker looks back at a 10-year career interviewing an impressive array of personalities ranging from national recording artists and political leaders, to Hollywood stars and best-selling authors.
Among past interviewees featured on CMC are P&G Walmart executives Dan Merrill and Lance McAlindon, Walden Media president Michael Flaherty, and Christian minister and film executive Devon Franklin, to name a few.
Future episodes will highlight the works of the Christian film industry’s movers and shakers, such as PluggedIn Online’s Bob Waliszewski, Christian media guru Phil Cooke, “Like Dandelion Dust” producer Bobby Downes, and highly respected Christian leaders like best-selling author and speaker Anne Graham Lotz and Josh McDowell, highly regarded by the Christian world as a media and culture expert.
Produced and edited by CDR Communications and by Cortney Matz, respectively, CMC is run by a dedicated and talented group of people that include multi-awarded producer/director/videographer Harold Hay of “The Zone” and “180 Videos” fame, freelance camera operator Angie DeBlieux (E! Entertainment Television, CBS, TNN, CMT and God TV), documentary filmmaker Jeffrey Worthington and Hollywood cinematographer Arledge Armenaki (“Welsey,” “Life in the Carolinas”), who will all make up CMC’s on-site videographers. Original music is by Philip Wade.
