Madison, WI – Man’s best friend.
Your canine companion, your confidant, sometimes – your hero.
According to the Capital Times, a 36 yr-old woman was saved from a sexual assault on Tuesday morning when her Golden Retriever intervened after a man launched an unprovoked attack.
Apparently the dog had been enjoying some playtime in an off-leash park when his guardian was attacked by a man “reeking of alcohol”.
The man attempted to wrap his arms around the woman and grab her chest.
The attack elicited a terrified scream from the victimized woman.
Her dog could sense her extreme distress and didn’t hesitate to come to her aid.
According to the report, the Golden Retriever ran at the man – growling, and barking – there was enough show of force from the protective dog that the drunken assailant decided to beat feet and run.
Other than being obviously frightened and distraught over the encounter, the woman was not otherwise injured.
A police report was filed, but no description of the attacker was provided.
Good job canine hero!!
This dog proves yet again, dogs are worthy of our love and respect.
