Air travel can be a hassle, from waiting in line at security, to hearing that your flight has been overbooked and even just waiting for your zone to board, flying can be tough. But if you’ve filed a complaint about a specific airline—you are not alone. The Department Of Transportation (DOT) has received around 3,600 complaints about airlines, in only six months.
So, which of these most complained about airlines are you going to run into on your next visit to Denver International Airport?
JetBlue Airways has 1.07 complaints per 100,000 passengers and places seventh out of the top ten most complained about airlines. JetBlue is in terminal west at DIA and uses the A gates. JetBlue has definitely stepped up their customer service game with a very reactive Twitter account to help customers solve their issues—sometimes even before the flight takes off.
Delta Airlines comes in sixth with 1.27 complaints per 100,000 passengers. Delta came in as the worst airline the previous year, but after their merger with Northwest their complaints were reduced by about 50%. To find Delta at DIA you’ll go to terminal East and find C gates.
American Airlines receives about 1.50 complaints per 100,000 passengers and places fifth on the top ten. American Airlines is located at terminal west and flies out of A gates.
Continental Airlines places third and has 1.70 complaints per 100,000 passengers. They are found in terminal west and at B gates.
US Airways inches closer to the number one spot with 1.73 complaints per 100,000 passengers. Most of these complaints stem from customer service problems. Take a chance and find them at DIA at terminal west and B gates.
The winner, or loser depending on what side you’re on, is United Airlines. 2.01 complaints per 100,000 passengers. Last year they were number two and haven’t stepped up their customer service enough to keep the complaints at bay. They too are in terminal west at B gates.
Funnily enough, US Airways, United Airlines, Delta Airlines and Continental Airlines all made the Air Transport Rating Agency (ATRA)’s list of safest airlines. Can they have an airline that has great customer service and make the safest airline list?
