A new art exhibit opens at Tohono Chul Park on Thursday, September 1, 2011. This new exhibit is called “Día de los Muertos.” The exhibit will be on display in the Main Gallery through November 6, 2011. The reception for this art exhibit will be on October 21, 2011 during the Park in the Dark event from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
The “Día de los Muertos” exhibit is an art exhibit that celebrates the Día de los Muertos holiday. Día de los Muertos is the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday, which is celebrated November 1-2. The exhibit has art with themes related to the holiday including ones related to mortality, loss, and rememberance.
The other exhibit that can be currently enjoyed at Tohono Chul Park is “Hummingbirds” in the Entry Gallery. This exhibit features hummingbird art. This exhibit is closing soon on September 12, 2011.
