If you haven’t heard of the Melting Pot, it is a wildly successful chain that has spread to literally hundreds of places across the United States. Yet, each one remains unique and provides a one of the kind dining experience by offering several courses of fondue.
Diners are seating at tables where a fondue pot is placed before them and skewers are provided to each diner to dip items into the fondue. The result is an exciting and interactive dining experience, which can be romantic for couples, fun for friends, and bonding for families.
The atmosphere at all of the Melting Pots is romantic and cozy, with warm booths and low lighting, but it is really the food that makes the Melting Pot so memorable.
First course is the cheese course, which for many people is the best part of the meal. Choose from tradition Swiss cheese, or more unusual choices like Spinach and Artichoke, Wisconsin Trio with nutty Fontina and Buttermilk Blue cheese, or Fiesta Cheese, which is made with cheddar and salsa. As the cheese melts before you, servers provide you with bread, apples, celery, and carrots to dip into the gooey madness (the fiesta cheese also comes with tortilla chips, an extra bonus!). You will find yourself wanting to lick the bowl!!!
A salad course follows (with delicious salad dressings made in house) and then comes the main course. Choose between broth and oil as your cooking method. The food to be cooked is a choice of different meats or seafood, or a vegetarian platter which comes with ravioli, tofu and lots of veggies. If you choose the oil, although unhealthier, it comes with a series of batters, so you can deep-fry your food which is not only remarkably fun, but also delicious.
Finally, just when it seems like you could never put another morsel of food in your mouth: dessert. Choose from white, dark, and milk chocolate fondue, melted to perfection and served with sinful toppings and a platter of everything from strawberries to rice krispy treats to cheesecake to dunk, dip, and smother in your pot of liquid chocolate. Extra treats added to your pot of chocolate include caramel and pecans in the Flaming Turtle, Oreos in the Cookies and Cream, and marshmallow cream and graham crackers in the S’Mores.
