All My Children News:
Prospect Park makes offer to actors from All My Children and One Life To Live to continue with show going online.
There’s more details on the news front regarding Prospect Park’s quest to put the ABC ending soaps “All My Children” and “One Life To Live” online and on cable.
Now comes word that the innovative company has reached out to the actors with proposals for continuing on the shows, both online and on cable.
“Tuesday night, Prospect Park presented their first proposal on this,” All my Children actor, Walt Willey [Jackson] told Soap Opera Digest. “I’ve only barely scanned the thing because I’m in Chicago doing press, so I don’t fully know the content, but I know this much: Here we go! Obviously, they are going to do this thing.” It seems that the company means business and is serious about keeping as much of the currents casts of both shows as possible.
Deadline is reporting that Prospect Park has reached out to Susan Lucci [Erica] first. According to the entertainment news site, Susan received an offer to continue on AMC and was offered basically the same salary she currently has at ABC.
It was previously reported that the company is looking for cable deals for both shows and just this week announced the hiring of Stratton Sclavos to help launch the venture. AMC and OLTL are scheduled to relaunch online in the first quarter of 2012. Prospect Park is also in talks with cable networks about carving out a traditional TV window.
I’m very excited about it,” Walt also said to Digest. “These folks are innovators and I think they are very smart. I think that getting this up and running by fall was a little on the undoable side, but now it seems that both AMC and ONE LIFE will be starting up on the Internet at the same time in January 2012.”
