What are the trends for 2011 Fall brides? The answers are as varied as brides themselves, and, this past Thursday, David’s Bridal had a Fall preview fashion show highlighting all the new trends from this coming Autumn. And, Christy Rabil, PR Manager for David’s Bridal was kind enough to answer the following interview questions on the topic:
Quoted from Christy Rabil, PR Manager for David’s Bridal via Interview with Linda Galloway
1. What is the trend for Fall? (Traditional, Contemporary, “The Kate” look, etc.)
“This season, we’re seeing a combination of traditional and contemporary looks across all of our collections. Syles range from classic sweetheart necklines to glamorous one-shoulder ball gowns complete with feathers and bows. Details like cascading and non-traditional prints and color are other trends we’re seeing at the moment.
The Royal Wedding has of course had a major impact on bridal styles with lace detailing and cathedral length veils becoming largely popular. For those looking to truly emulate the royal look we’ve created Kate-inspired ceremony and reception gowns.
The trend of the second dress for the reception continues to grow as well. This season, we’ve expanded our two-in-one gown collection giving brides even more options to transition from long and elegant at the ceremony to short and sweet at the reception for a fraction of the price.”
2. How many new styles will brides have in Fall, 2011?
“David’s Bridal has introduced an array of bridal gowns styles this season across the Oleg Cassini, Galina Signature, Galina, White by Vera Wang and David’s Bridal Collections. Each collection offers a different style fit for every bride’s specific taste, personality and price point.”
3. What’s new in bridesmaid dresses?
“This fall, popular colors include peacock blue, mercury silver and plum. We’re also seeing white emerge as a major color trend due to the “Pippa effect” of the Royal Weeding. Trend right details include cascading ruffles, origami folds, pleats and crystal embellishments. When it comes to silhouette, we’re seeing everything from T-length dresses to bubble hems.”
4. Is David’s Bridal offering any discounts or have any upcoming sales promoting the new Fall line?
“Now through August 1st, David’s Bridal is offering brides-to-be $50 off already marked down gowns in the Oleg Cassini and Galina Signature Collections.”
5. How far in advance should brides-to-be make their appointments with David’s Bridal?
“David’s Bridal strives to accommodate every bride no matter if the wedding is two years or two days away. The consultants are a great resource to show the cuts and colors that work perfectly on body types and skin tones. With gowns ranging from sizes 0-26, bridesmaids’ dresses in 44 different colors, brides and their bridal party will have a variety of options to choose from.”
