Living in the Providence area is truly a pleasure. Especially during the summer months. Why, because there are a multitude of indoor and outdoor activities to get involved in. The stay-at-home dads who are sports fanatics maybe well aware of this one because you’re kind of indoors, well under cover when your watching them play outdoors. Whether it’s baseball with the Providence Grays vintage baseball team (whose home games are at Ardoene Field on Narragansett Ave in Providence) or the red hot Paw Sox you’ve all come to know and love, there is always something to do and it’s not all about baseball it’s the experience too.
For the water-dog dads who love swimming with the kids and or the family I’ve got something for you. Providence has several free public pools and even more public water parks just for you all around the city. Not only will they keep your kids cool in the hot hot weather, but they will also keep them fed by serving them lunch everyday. That’s right lunch! Free lunch is provided to all children at the pools and water parks daily, courtesy of the Summer Lunch Program (provided by the Providence Dept. of Recreation). Check out the hours of operation and locations of the water parks and pools at their website www.providenceri.com/recreation/water. It’s summertime, get out there and sweat!
