Fans love to read up on what ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011 show host Chris Harrison has to say about the show. Tuesday morning TV Guide posted its weekly interview with Chris, and Scottsdale fans are anxious for these extra tidbits. Ashley Hebert narrowed down her suitors to JP Rosenbaum and Ben Flajnik in Monday night’s episode, and fans cannot wait to see the finale next week. What juicy details does Chris share in his interview?
Last week fans saw Constantine’s family share some of its Greek heritage with The Bachelorette Ashley Hebert, but little else was shown or discussed about this. When Constantine left in Monday’s episode, Chris shares, “I was surprised he left, but I totally get it. Why hang around for a rose ceremony when it was so obvious it wasn’t happening for him?” He adds, “And it’s something we don’t deal with often, but I’m guessing that with him being Greek Orthodox and she’s not, there were a lot of obstacles in their way.” He is glad, however, that Constantine was man enough to leave before the fantasy suite became an issue.
JP and Ben are both in love
Chris admits that the editing did make things seem a bit more abrupt than they really were between Ashley and Constantine. He shares, however, that since it was increasingly obvious where things were headed, to a degree they simply cut to the chase. As for both JP and Ben hesitating on telling Ashley they were in love with her, Chris says he gets it. He shares, “She can’t reciprocate it so they only go as far as they safely feel. I think it’s very clear they both love her and I think she understands they both love her.”
Somebody will go down in flames
Many viewers think that things are pretty even between JP and Ben after Monday night’s The Bachelorette episode, and Chris concurs. He thinks the guys felt the same way at this point, sharing that both JP and Ben are feeling as if they’re really the only guy left at this point. He shares, however, “That is a great thing, but also a dangerous, scary place to be because obviously only one guy is going to win this race.” Unfortunately one guy is sent home next week and he may be blindsided. Chris shares, “somebody is going to go down in flames.”
A serious talk with Ryan Park
Chris says he had a long talk with Ryan Park before he went to see Ashley in Fiji, and was honest with him that he didn’t think Ashley would be changing her mind. Chris says, “He went there realistically, but when he got there, he got his hopes up.” Will Ryan be the next Bachelor, as many suspect? Chris swears they haven’t made a decision yet (just like they swore they hadn’t decided on Ashley weeks ahead of the announcement either).
Several contenders for ‘The Bachelor’
Harrison teases that people will think Ames is the Bachelor when they watch the “Men Tell All” special, and says, “The No. 2 guy from this show is going to blow people away next week. I think we’re going to have three fantastic guys that could be the Bachelor and that’s a great problem to have for a change.” That’s well and good, but since two of those three are rumored to be developing romances with other Bachelor alumni, that leaves fans with a pretty good hint about who to expect as The Bachelor in January.
The “Men Tell All” special
As for Sunday night’s “Men Tell All” special, Chris says that Tim steals the show. Fans may doubt this, but Chris says, “I know people think of the guy as a cocktail joke, but I promise America will love him.” It seems doubtful that all that many viewers care about the guy who passed out and was sent home the first night, but Chris says he takes the experience in stride and fans will love it. Does anything juicy happen in the “Men Tell All” episode? Chris says, “It was a little bit more heated than I thought it was going to be.” William is given a hard time by the guys, especially for how he threw Ben Castoriano under the bus.
Ashley’s family doesn’t like JP
The previews for The Bachelorette next week show Ashley and her sister Chrystie arguing, and Chris shares that it is indeed related to JP Rosenbaum, as many fans suspect. While everybody this season has fallen head-over-heels in love with JP, Ashley’s family is the exception. Chris says, “Ashley’s family comes to town and JP doesn’t exactly get a glowing report from the family. It stirs things up.” Chris has previously said that things get rocky between Ashley and JP before the final rose is handed out, and in this interview he notes that the family meeting is what he was referring to before.
Where do you think things stand for Ben Flajnik and JP Rosenbaum? Do you think the ending is obvious or do you think ABC is trying to trick the viewers? Who do you think gets Ashley’s final rose on Monday? Don’t forget that the “Men Tell All” episode airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday night, a change from the usual schedule due to the 4th of July falling on a Monday. Then the final episode airs on Monday night, August 1, beginning at 7 p.m. JP Rosenbaum and Ben Flajnik meet Ashley Hebert’s family, get one more date with her, and then the final rose ceremony will happen. You don’t want to miss a moment of these final two shows this season on ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011.
