Pizza, pasta, calzones, sandwiches, and more! Don’t let the name of Tony Soprano’s Pizzeria fool you. They may specialize in fast Italian food, but the selection is much more vast than the description implies. Would you expect a variety of hamburgers in a pizzeria? How about salads, pastas, or barbecue? Well then, let me and Tony Soprano’s Pizzeria intrigue your appetites and dazzle your taste buds.
For me, I’d stay for the food, but leave from the service, which isn’t much of a complaint since Tony Soprano’s Pizzeria is not a sit-down restaurant. It’s a take-out. Though I don’t mind driving to pick up my own meal, I do have a problem getting a meal that seems heavily taxed, as well as having the obligation of adding tip, as well. I didn’t appreciate watching the man’s face fall and suddenly getting a cold shoulder when I didn’t give him the tip he thought he deserved.
Really? All you did was hand me the box that I drove to get for myself. It’s a good thing there’s no waiters or waitresses to depend on a tip there.
Luckily, a small Stromboli or calzone is as little as $8.95, which can easily provide leftovers. However, a large, which serves two to three people, can be as much as $16.95.
Besides that, the Strombolis are worth the drive, or added tip (for delivery, only!). If all you’ve ever had is pizza, then you are sorely missing out. I’m not a crust person, but wrap up my pizza fixings in the golden and crunchy crust of a Stromboli, and I’m in saucy cheesy heaven.
What’s great about the pizzas, calzones, and Strombolis is that you can choose whatever pizza toppings you want to fit the crust you prefer. If it goes on a pizza or specialty pizza, it can go in a calzone or Stromboli. Whether it’s the flat crust from a pizza, the encasing crust of a calzone with additional cheese, or the enveloping crispy crust of a Stromboli, you get what you want with a larger variety of options than you may be used to.
Pepperoni and Hawaiian are more typical, but how about Creamy Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Fajita, Bacon Cheeseburger, or Philly Cheese steak? And there’s much more where that came from.
The Meat Lovers can satisfy the genuine carnivore in anyone. It’s so full of sausage, pepperoni, ham – I may be forgetting some others – that the cheese plays only a supporting role in this dish.
Personally, I loved the Creamy Buffalo Chicken. It was so cheesy I wondered if the Stromboli was held together from the cheesy glue rather than the outer crust. And, the chicken was so juicy and tender my mouth waters just remembering the flavor of it.
It looks like I will have to be getting myself another Stromboli sometime soon.
