There’s some sad news from the upcoming revival of “Charlie’s Angels” — the show is now officially in need of a new Charlie. After acting legend (and friend to the original Charlie John Forsythe) Robert Wagner signed on to voice the character, a spokesperson for the ABS show now says that the move is not going to be permanent:
“Due to his scheduling conflicts, Robert Wagner will need to step away from his duties as Charlie on Charlie’s Angels.”
So who will be suitable to come on board now? The real challenge for this series is going to be trying to find someone who is not only a popular actor to give the show some pop-culture buzz, but their voice has to be incredibly unique. One of the charms of the original series was that Forsythe’s voice was so original.
This new series — which stars Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor, and Annie Ilonzeh — will air Thursday nights this fall. Who do yout want to see as the new Charlie?
