My first visit with the restaurant Celebrations was not a let down. They use fresh local produce that is in season and bake a wonderful selection of breads daily. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed and friendly. The staff work together as a finely tuned machine with great attention to their guests. The exterior is set-up with a wonderful patio that includes a water fountain and a stone fireplace. The menu choices in fish include salmon, trout and catfish, with your choice in cooking methods of grilled, broiled or fried, and with a seasoning range from rosemary and lemon or dill, thyme, white wine and capers to a cajun style. The poultry selections are broad with great choices such as walnut crusted chicken with a wonderful honey Dijon sauce to grilled or fried with melted mozzarella cheese and a white wine mushroom sauce to a home-style fried and even a Jamaican jerk chicken that comes with a warning that this is not for the faint of heart. There also are a couple of pasta dishes to choose from, a fresh vegetable lasagna and a marinara sauce with spaghetti. There is a wonderful meatloaf choice that is served with tomato sauce, grated cheddar cheese and scallions or a mushroom sauce and a grilled center cut pork chop plate that is seasoned to perfection. The salad choices range from broiled salmon to a walnut crusted chicken with choices in homemade dressings.
All entrees are resonable prices with ample portions, the high end being the salmon at $18 and the median pricing at $13. The vegetable choices vary to what produce is in season and range from blackeyed peas, mashed potatoes, corn-on-the-cob and broccoli. You will want to save room for the dessert menu which is freshly made from scratch with great southern-style choices like strawberry shortcake, banana pudding or a fresh apple crisp with an almond crust.
Our menu choices for this evening were the rosemary roasted chicken and the light herb chicken and both were quite pleasing to our senses with a savory blend of seasonings. Our vegetable choices were broccoli, squash, and red potatoes, these were seasoned nicely as well. We shared a a dessert of the rich and creamy banana pudding and could not have been any happier to have had this great treat. Overall, our dining experience was well worth the visit!
On a one to three scale with three being the highest rating I rate this restaurant at two stars. It is well worth a detour in your journey to visit and dine at.
