How will you celebrate the first ever International Tempranillo Day? Hopefully by sipping a delicious glass of Tempranillo! You might be surprised to learn that Tempranillo has its own fan club, the Tempranillo Advocates Producers and Amigos Society (TAPAS), responsible for raising awareness of Spanish varietals.
While Tempranillo is the sixth most widely planted grape in the world, with Spanish origins, American growers and producers have finally discovered Tempranillo. There is also a growing interest in other Spanish and Portuguese varieties like Albariño, Graciano, Garnacha and Verdelho, and Touriga Naçional, the grapes used in Port.
