A weak frontal boundary will slowly sag southward from the Canadian border through the day on Thursday bringing a chance for some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two during the afternoon and evening hours. High pressure will be allowed to build in briefly on Friday before sliding off the Atlantic coast and bringing a southerly flow of milder, more humid, air to the region in time for the holiday weekend. This brief return of humid conditions will be complete with the chance for some afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, especially on Sunday and into Monday as a cold front slices through the region.
Fair weather returns for the shortened work week, along with a decrease in temperatures to more seasonal levels for this time of year.
