As summer comes to a close, morning air becomes crisp and the scent of sausage makes its way through Milwaukee, one thing is clear…it is almost time for Café’ Centraal to host their 6th Annual Lakefront International Festival of Sausages.
Otherwise known as Sausage Fest, this event features all-you-can-eat sausage from local sausage makers and purveyors for only $10! Confirmed Sausage vendors set to be at the event include: Adamcyzk Foods, Buddy’s Meat Market, Glorioso Bros Italian Foods, Ray’s Butcher Shoppe, and Rupena’s Fine Foods. All sausages will be served on delicious Breadsmith buns. Lakefront Brewery and Great Lakes Distillery will offer alcoholic drinks for purchase as well as point sodas and house-made lemonade.
For more festival like fun, enjoy live music as you enjoy your love for sausage. Should you deem your love for sausage to be one of the greats, try your hand at the sausage eating contest. For younger sausages lovers, activities they too can enjoy will be at the festival.
Local sausages at the event will be evaluated by a celebrity panel of “sausage experts.” Judged in a variety of categories, it will be determined which sausage is the best-of-the-wurst. Each sausage evaluated will have a chance to win best-of-show to become an exclusive sausage maker for the Lowlands Group (Café Hollander-Downer Avenue, CaféHollander-TosaVillage, Café Centraal, Café Benelux and Trocadero Gastrobar).
The 6th Annual Lakefront International Festival of Sausages takes place on Saturday, September 10 from 2-8pm. It will be held on Lincoln Avenue outside of Café Centraal.
All proceeds from the sausage portion of Sausage Fest will be donated to support the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information, visit www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
