Breaking: Casey Anthony must serve probation, return to Orlando (video, photos)
ORLANDO, Fla. — Breaking news here in San Francisco is about a judge in Florida who has said Casey Anthony has to return to Orlando. Anthony must return, says San Francisco’s ABC 7 News, in order to serve probation for check fraud.
Casey Anthony has gone into seclusion since she was found not-guilty of murdering her two-year old daughter, Caylee Anthony.
San Francisco resident and news follower, Aimee Tan, says, “I read she is the most hated person in America, even more than OJ Simpson or the Octomom. I wouldn’t wish that title on anyone.”
Casey Anthony was given jail time but was credit with time served and was released earlier this summer. When she left jail in Orlando her attorney, Baez, accompanied her.
There have been death threats made against Casey Anthony since she was released from jail and she has been kept out of the public eye. In the sentencing, the jurors told the press they felt “Sick to their stomachs” about the verdict. (See that story here: Casey Anthony case: jurors ‘sick to stomach’ re verdict)
Judge Belvin Perry ruled on Friday that Anthony must follow a probation order issued by another judge earlier this month. Anthony has now been told she must report to an Orange County probation officer by Aug. 26 at noon. She can report earlier if she wishes, says ABC 7 News.
Anthony’s attorneys, however, have stated that bringing Anthony back to serve probation is likely to be dangerous, in view of the public’s sentiment.
As a result of this, Judge Belvin Perry has said he will allow the Department of Corrections to make an exception to the rule and keep Anthony’s address private while she is on probation.
Casey Anthony was sentenced in January 2010 to probation after she pleaded guilty to using checks that she had stolen from a friend. Circuit Judge Stan Strickland stated at that time that he wanted the probation period to be served once Casey Anthony was released from jail.
