One thing most parents don’t encourage their children to do, and that is hate.
Simply said, it is not healthy, however the anger, outrage and hatred over the release of Casey Anthony is not subsiding.
Social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter are sounding off with major boycotts of networks, their sponsors, or anyone or anything remotely involved in this travesty of justice.
Many accept the verdict, this is not an option. However many more don’t respect it. It is of course, our First Amendment to feel this way. Recently Psychology Today has an article written by a former FBI agent which helps us to better understand the jury and, respectfully speaking, how they didn’t get it right or simply didn’t understand the instructions.
With over 57,000 LIKEs on “I Hate Casey Anthony Page” nearly 75,000 LIKEs on “Casey Anthony is Guilty” and over 750,000 LIKEs on “F*** Casey Anthony” (page was disabled by Facebook) this anger is not subsiding soon.
Boycott pages as well as hate pages are blasting in numbers. Boycott Casey Anthony Page shortly after the verdict was read is now well over 17,000. Many others with thousands of LIKEs are Boycott Casey Anthony,– Boycott Casey Anthony and Her Legal Counsel,– Boycott All Things Casey Anthony, — Keep Casey Anthony From Profiting, — Casey Anthony is a Baby Killer, — Casey Anthony Sucks and many more growing on a daily basis.
Although many of the media coverage have moved on to new stories, this outrage is not budging.
Ft. Lauderdale resident recently posted on one of the boycott pages on Facebook, “I remember why I am boycotting. Join me in remembrance of Caylee.”
Petitions through Change.org are also growing to promote boycotts and make change.
It isn’t all about hate. Justice for Caylee has grown to over 16,000 LIKEs. Plans for Caylee’s Walkway are also in the future.
The U.S Supreme Court: Try Casey Anthony in Federal Court has nearly 40,000 signature already.
Caylee’s Law is being proposed. This is sad day in America when we need a law to tell us to report our child when they go missing.
Hate is never healthy, however giving that energy into making a positive difference can be beneficial. To the many that will continue to give Caylee Marie a voice, these boycotts and pages on Facebook, as well as many Tweets, are a way to express the feelings over two-thirds of Americans are feeling.
Let’s end on a positive note, listen to Rascal Flatts song, “She’s Going Places,” in dedication to and a tribute to Caylee Marie Anthony.
Watch the video on the sidebar of the song.
Although we never meet her, we all fell in love with her.
