And it’s official. “Boardwalk Empire,” will return Sunday, September 25, for a second go around, as reported on its Facebook page this past Thursday.
The smash hit, prohibition era drama is also just coming off being nominated for 18 Emmy awards. So far, it has won at the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards for Best Drama and Best Actor (Steve Buscemi). Don’t be surprised if it does it again at the Emmys.
There hasn’t been much reported on the new season, aside from new casting and what Paz De La Huerta told The New York Times. I think the more under wraps the creators keep it, the more surprises there may be. This could be a good thing for the show. No one really likes spoilers, anyway.
There is still no announcement on when the first season will be released on DVD/Blu-ray. It should be relatively soon, especially after this announcement. I’ll keep you posted.
Again, season two of Boardwalk Empire starts Sunday, September 25, at 9:00/8:00p.m. Central on HBO.
