At the August 9 Lake Charles City Council Agenda Meeting, the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club of Louisiana VIII presented a check for $5,500 to the City of Lake Charles and Rebuilding Millennium Park Committee in support of the Rebuilding Millennium Park project.
“For the Blue Knights LA VIII, it was truly a Millennium Ride to remember,” said Gary Lemon, President of Blue Knights, Chapter VIII. “We would just like the people we serve to know we care,” he said.
Said Mayor Roach:
“The Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club of Louisiana VIII donation is very much appreciated by the City of Lake Charles. The benefit ride they recently held for Millennium Park is another great example of community support for this project – a project that everyone can get behind. We thank them for all their support”
According to Kay Barnett, Rebuilding Millennium Park chair, “The Blue Nights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club of Louisiana VIII has demonstrated their commitment to seeing Millennium Park rebuilt and we are greatly appreciative of their donation. We thank them for the benefit ride they recently conducted especially for the rebuild efforts. It is a strong testimony to the community spirit of this project.
“The fundraising effort is going very well,” said Barnett. “As of now, we have raised about 65 percent with a goal of $350,000.
