Nicknames: ”Just JC.”

Musical Tastes: ”Dave Matthews Band, all the way.”

First Job: ”I worked at the Little League baseball fields. I dragged and lined the fields and cut the grass. And took care of the Little League parks.”

First Car: ”A 1988 Ford Thunderbird turbo couple (navy blue).”

Early Baseball Memory: ”I had more memories of watching my brother (Wes) play then I would drop one of myself. My little brother was nine years old and struck out 16 kids. And the pitcher pitching against him struck out 15. And it was a one-run game and my little brother hit the home run when he was nine.”

Greatest Sports Moment: ”Believe it or not, it was a spring training game. My younger brother played Triple A and he got called up for the day in a spring training game. The first time we were on the field together ever, and it was in a big league game. And we turned a double play together. I was playing short and he was playing second (in 2004).”

Most Painful Moment: ”That had to be in high school, one week before baseball season. I was playing basketball and compound fracture – broke both bones in my forearm.”

Favorite Uniforms: ”I like the Giants home uniforms.”

Favorite Ballpark: “Big fan of Colorado.”

Closest Baseball Friends: ”Probably Nick Johnson and Andy Tracy.”

Funniest Players Encountered: ”Carlos Baerga ranks right up there.”

Toughest Competitor Encountered: ”Curt Schilling.”

Funny Baseball Memory: ”In Montreal a few years ago. Tony Bautista got hit by a pitch to the head. He got up and waved to his family, told his family he is all right. Made everybody standing around home plate to clear out. Made the first baseman step off the base. And he did a dead sprint from home plate to maybe 60-70 feet behind first base. Without a doubt, funniest moment.”

Embarrassing Baseball Memory: “In Philly, 2-2 count. Thought it was ball four. Took off all the way to first base. Everybody was yelling at me. And I didn’t know why. Finally I got to first and realized it was only ball three. But I still managed to get on first about three pitches later (walked).”

People Qualities Most Admired: ”Just light-hearted people that are having fun. Good spirited people. And somebody who’s honest, up-front.”
