Although Bill Bateman’s Bistro is not a new spot on the Baltimore dining scene per se, a new location has recently opened in Perry Hall and, in true Bateman’s fashion, is delivering quality food at reasonable prices. Especially of note are the wings and the burgers (of course).
As a resident of Cub Hill growing up, and a Towson University student shortly thereafter, I had the pleasure of being within walking distance of a Bateman’s for many years. Although the original Cub Hill location has been gone for some time, I have continued to patronize the Parkville and Towson locations whenever possible. Unfortunately, my favorite Bateman’s offering, the all-you-can-eat wings (A.U.C.E.) special on Monday nights, was discontinued and replaced by a pay-per-wing event. Needless to say, when I discovered that the new Perry Hall location was going to be rolling out an A.U.C.E. wing special, I was there in a matter of days.
For only $8.99 on Monday nights, you can eat wings to your heart’s content, or your stomach’s capacity, whichever comes first. On our recent visit, the wings, currently available in nearly twenty varieties, were flavorful, well-cooked, and well-sauced. We won’t reveal how many the guys at our table ate, but the meal definitely hearkened our days of youth at the aforementioned locations.
Although Bateman’s is known by many in the Baltimore area for wings, there are a lot of other great offerings on the menu as well. A burger made with Angus beef is always a great choice and can be ordered in the traditional fashion, or with its own unique Bateman’s twist. Personally, I really enjoyed the Ultimate Burger.
Not to be forgotten, the menu also includes a variety of apps, wraps, sandwiches, entrées, and desserts. The Texas Nachos Supreme and the Crab Pretzel are always a great way to start your meal, or great to munch on while you enjoy a drink and a game on one of the numerous large-screen TVs located in the bar and dining room.
Whether you are looking for a heaping pile of wings to fly you to satisfaction, a full meal, or a drink and an appetizer, the new Bill Bateman’s Bistro in Perry Hall is open and ready to serve you.
