Thursday night, the Big Brother 13 show was full of big shifts in the game. Dominic was voted out of the game by a vote of 7-1, gaining only Daniele’s vote. The houseguests have been fighting and the “Double Trouble” twist of playing in pairs is over. The Golden Key twist is also done, so everybody except Rachel, the current HoH, was eligible to play in the next competition. As the Thursday Big Brother 2011 broadcast finished, the endurance HoH competition was just getting underway and everybody was determined to win.
With no more Golden Keys and a massive fight between the alliances this week, nobody feels sure they are safe going into next week’s elimination. Daniele has been busy trying to shift the power in the game, and she got caught by the other veterans, her prior alliance. Dani swears she is going to do whatever it takes to win the next Big Brother 13 Head of Household, but others are determined to keep the power from her. The houseguests have to balance on a moving set of skis, leaning against a wall, and whichever houseguest can stay on the skis the longest wins HoH.
Adam and Lawon are the first two houseguests to drop, followed by Brendon. Jeff falls next, and Jordan comes down shortly after. The remaining four ladies, Daniele, Porsche, Shelly and Kalia manage to stay up on the skis for quite a while. Porsche is the next to drop and the remaining three hang tight for a while. Shelly drops, leaving just Daniele and Kalia. The other veterans are feeling quite anxious, as Daniele is certainly in a good position to win – especially considering she will certainly work on striking a deal with Kalia. While a week ago the vets would have been happy to see Daniele win, after the fights this week this is the last thing they want.
Kalia and Daniele stay up on the skis for a while, when they agree that Kalia will drop. In perhaps the worst deal-making strategy ever, Kalia seems to agree that Daniele will simply “think about” not nominating her this week. Apparently Kalia was going down regardless, and grabbed something as close to a deal as she could get. It seems unlikely she’s Daniele’s target, but who knows what will happen between now and the Big Brother nominations for this week.
What do you think of the HoH competition and win? Are you excited to see the power shift in the game, or were you rooting for the two veteran pairs to keep control? Some fans have been disappointed in the season so far, but it looks like things are on the verge of big changes.
