As this season of Big Brother 13 grows to a close, more drama and tension inside of the Big Brother house as the viewers finally saw the Jeff/Shelly confronation that set off a domino effect before the double eviction. After Jeff’s eviction, things looked bleak for Jordan and Rachel but, after the return of an old twist, things started to get brighter for them.
Before viewers can find out who won the Head-of-Household competition, the show showed the drama before the double eviction ceremonies between Shelly and Jeff Thursday night.
It started when Rachel came to tell Jeff that Shelly told her that, according to Daniele, he threw the Power of Veto competition that resulted in getting her fiancé Brendon evicted. He denied it and was heartbroken that Shelly would go behind his back to betray him and Jordan.
Meanwhile, Shelly asked Adam if he told Jeff about telling Daniele that he threw the POV competition, and he said no. Then, an angry Jeff told Adam about Shelly going behind his back and planning to keep Daniele. Shelly entered into the conversation and was irate by them. She also said that everyone was in on the plan to keep Daniele except for Jeff and Jordan. This made Jeff even more upset and accused Shelly of playing both sides of the house. The argument between Jeff and Shelly was so heated and loud that it can be heard all over the house. Even Rachel doesn’t want to get involved. Rachel not getting involved in an argument? Who knew that Rachel was the voice of reason?
After Daniele was evicted, Shelly was worried that she might be next after she broke her alliance with Jeff and Jordan. Then, after Kalia won HOH and nominated Jeff and Rachel, Jeff talked to Shelly in order to join his side again. But, Jeff was evicted by a 3 – 2 vote with Shelly evicted him. After Jeff left the house, Jordan and Rachel was disheartened because they knew that they will be next and have to fight against the house all by themselves. They asked around the house on who voted to evict Jeff and, when she found out that Shelly had betrayed Jeff, Jordan was upset and felt that she was dumb into trusting her.
Then, the new war of words erupted between Jordan and Shelly. Jordan was mad that Shelly would betrayed them after all of the things they did for her including Jordan giving her a phone call from home during solitary confinement. Shelly defended herself by saying that she needed to evict Jeff because he’s a strong player and stood in the way from winning the money for her family. Nice way to use your family to justify backstabbing Jeff, Shelly. Well, that didn’t stop sweet Jordan from having an explosive rant against her and against some of the house of continuing to follow Daniele’s lead, even though her season was 4 years ago. Who knew that Jordan can be so feisty?
Now that the viewers now know what happened in the past, the show moved forward to the HOH competition. The game featured a snake platform that Adam and Jeff were playing on the previous episode. In this competition, the contestants have to maneuver the board to move the snake eye ball to land on the snake eye hole. If the ball falls, it will land on the number value. After each contestant got a shot, it moved to a head-to-head match-up with the person with the higher number advances. In the end, Porsche defeated Jordan to win the HOH. After the competition, Porsche and Kalia were doing a celebratory dance while Jordan and Rachel were crying in tears because they knew that they will be nominated. This led Rachel to wonder why she suddenly struggling in challenges now. Maybe she’s now over-the-hill. Meanwhile, Adam, trying to stay in the game, had jumped ship from the Jordan/Rachel’s alliance to join the Kalia-Shelly-Porsche alliance.
When she entered her HOH Room, Porsche got a surprise. It’s the return of the dreaded Pandora’s Box. However, Porsche was excited to see it. Really, Porsche? In case you don’t know what Pandora’s Box is, it’s a part of the game where the HOH can get a reward by opening it but, at the same, also delivers something good or bad to the rest of the house. In this case, Porsche watched two envelopes holding $5,000 each as well as two glasses and champagne. She read the letter stating that she can get $10,000 and share it with another houseguest but, if she accepts it, she must read the second letter to the other contestants. She did opened Pandora’s Box and decided to share her reward with Kalia. But, the twist in the second letter was that the duo twist is back for one week. In case you missed the first half of the season, two duos will be nominated for eviction and, if one duo wins the POV and used it to save themselves, both members of the duo still nominated will have to campaign against each other to stay in the house. Of course, Rachel and Jordan formed one duo while Adam and Shelly formed another.
Thanks to Porsche’s ill-advised move, the Newbies went from ruling the house to strugglng to survive as Rachel and Jordan had renewed hope of staying in the game.
