The Marriott Louisville hosted hundreds of guests dressed to the nines as The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed of Louisville 2011 Presented By Churchill Downs commenced in the Grand Ball Room to support Dress for Success. The wonderful fashion event fused the elegance of ballet with distinct fashion to provide guests a memorable experience.
The event was planned to perfection with a great musical backdrop to accompany the fashion and provided two big screens for a great view of the runway from any seat in the house. Beautifully decorated tables added to the esteemed setting provided by rustic and sophisticated décor. Prior to the start of the show, guests enjoyed an array of cocktails featuring Chambord, a sponsor for the event. Creative and delicious hors d’oeuvres included a sushi bar, Portobello fries, and a mix of cheeses and fruits. A sophisticated display of cupcakes satisfied the sweet tooth and went very well with the Chambord cocktails.
The Louisville Ballet, the Runway Sponsor for the event, presented an abstract, yet traditional performance featuring several dancers to open the show. The natural and simplistic nature of the brief ballet conveyed a story of a woman being confined to the uniformity of fashion only to be set free of her bounds and taken to a clean slate.
Once the dancers cleared the runway, a man literally flew down the runway and then back performing acrobatic movements while in flight. The entertainer, clothed with nature themed apparel including bananas, colorfully introduced the models from varying fashion boutiques in the Louisville area. The boutiques in Louisville bring a great mix of fashion to ladies and gentlemen through this event as well as named sponsors for the event. Bittners, Sunny Daze, Circe, Rodes, Clodhoppers, Rodeo Drive, Dressing Room, Serendipity, and Nyam’s all presented the latest fashions for the Louisvillian in you. The fashions were allocated into groupings such as, “what to wear to Breeder’s Cup”. Clean lines, flowing dresses, and sleek accessories brought the fashions into focus. Many dresses, pants, and coats graced the runway showcasing a great part of Louisville.
