New yarns and pattern books for the Fall and Winter knitting season are starting to pop up in Detroit area yarn shops, and Berroco is no exception. When you have knit designers like Norah Gaughan and Cirilia Rose driving the design team, how could the new products get any better?
In addition to her work with Berroco yarns and her nine volumes of pattens for them, Norah Gaughan has written two knitting books; Comfort Knitting and Crochet: Afghans: More Than 50 Beautiful, Affordable Designs Featuring Berroco’s Comfort Yarn and Knitting Nature: 39 Designs Inspired by Patterns in Nature. Cirilia Rose is a freelance designer in addition to her work with Berroco yarns, blogs at bricoleur knits, and is in the midst of writting a knitting book. Together, they form the dynamic duo that designs for Berroco yarns.

The new yarns at Berroco for the fall/winter 2011 season are:
Each shade of Boboli is composed of an enchanting mix of shifting colors. A glimmering wool blend boasting a subtle shine and soft hand, this yarn lends cool-weather projects an air of sophisticated originality.
Airy but warm, Soufflé’s woolly chainette construction works up quickly into cozy sweaters and accessories. The captivating range of self-striping colorways gives even the simplest projects instant appeal.
Nanuk’s luxe plush texture sets it apart. The intriguing mix of wool and nylon produces a tantalizing fabric that begs to be touched. Beautiful on its own or used as trimming, this yarn is a rich indulgence for the senses.
Super fine alpaca gives Voyage, a lofty chainette yarn, irresistible softness and warmth. Available in a range of refined heathered shades, this yarn will beautifully showcase stitch textures or the clean simplicity of stockinette.
Berroco Blackstone Tweed™ Metallic
Our popular Blackstone Tweed gets a touch of sparkle by adding a pliable metallic strand. The yarn’s characteristic softness and tweedy texture remain unchanged, giving devoted fans a glittering new version to love.
Huge and colorful, Link is full of character. Instantly gratifying when worked on size 35 or 50 needles, this yarn creates eye-catching accessories.
If you create new yarns, you must also create new patterns! Berroco has seven new pattern books using their new fall/winter lineup of yarns. One book in particular features the designs of Norah Gaughan, one of the knitting worlds popular designers.
