Eli Cannon’s Room is the best place in Middletown, CT to get local craft beer hands down. From a purely “beer” standpoint, Eli’s offers 33 rotating craft and local beer selections which is much more than just about any other pub in CT. Though sometimes crowded near full capacity, Eli’s is just about the only place to drink hard-to-find beer straight from the draught.
Eli’s has the rest of the summer covered with tons of exciting beer-drinking events, starting Sunday when they kick off a solid week of festivites that they have aptly labled “Beer Gods Week.”
This Sunday July 31st, Eli Cannon’s will kick off their epic “Beer Gods Week” with the “Sunday Bloody Sunday Beer Brunch” featuring food specials for this day only and Dogfish Head “Breakfast” Ales.
Then, on Monday August 1st, Eli’s will be holding their first Mini Beer Fest and BBQ. Doors open at 5:00 PM with tickets in advance costing $30 and $35 at the door. There will be 17+ beers represented and a BBQ outside. The actual dining room will be open as well with even more beer for you to drink.
The next day (Tuesday, August 2nd) Eli’s will have their Dogfish Head tap takeover, where they will have 10+ different draught ales, mostly of the rare, aged, and local favorite variety.
The next day, Wednesday August 3rd, is Eli’s “Are You Firkn’ Kiddin’ Me Wednesday.” This entails a night of cask conditioned ales from Blue Point, New England Brewing Co., Thomas Hooker, and more as well. If you have never drank beer from a cask then you’re missing out, so get on down to this event to have a few casks to choose from.
Thursday night (August 4th) is the “Bartender’s Challenge,” which will feature Sauza tequila and ripe fruit juices. Though not strictly beer related, this is a rare chance to go to Eli’s to drink and vote on special drinks mixed by their very own bartenders.
Finally (and hopefully you’ve managed to stay alive through this week of beer madness) on Friday August 5th, Eli’s will host a Kona Brewery Company Luau Party from 4-10 PM with real live fire breathers and hula dancers. Because after all: nothing says summer better than a Luau.
Still not satiated? Eli Cannon’s will also feature promotional nights from several breweries for the rest of the Summer. In August Eli Cannon’s will feature New England Brewing Co. on the 9th, Victory on the 16th, Sam Adams on the 23rd, and Thomas Hooker on the 30th. In September Eli’s will feature Chimay on the 13th and Blue Point Brewing Co. on the 27th.
If you have any questions about the events or want advance tickets to the Beer Fest stop in at Eli’s and ask, and enjoy a beer while you’re there.
