On Saturday, July 30th from 10am-1pm kids can enjoy the Fourth Annual Back to School Fest sponsored by PepsiCo and Wal-Mart/Sam’s Clubs at the Jacksonville Landing. There will be more than 30 corporations and non-profits on site giving away over 200,000 free school supplies while live music will be performing on the stage. You do not have to bring a Wal-Mart receipt this year to receive a free backpack, which will be available while supplies last. Wal-Mart’s optical staff will be there to provide free vision screenings to all children and will assist in providing glasses for those who need them. Entrance and all activities are free and open to the public.

Back to School Bash – August 12th : 7pm-11pm at Faith Christian Center.
The Youth Ministry will begin pre-concert festivities with basketball, flag football, music, free giveaways and concession. Doors will open at 8:30 for the band, Group 1 Crew. Tickets are 410 until August 1st, and then they will be $15.
Shop for Back to School at Regency Square and Be Rewarded –August 12th-13th
Receive a $10 Shop Etc. Gift Card when you spend $75 or more at the mall August 12-13.Plus, a bonus gift, receive a one-year subscription with your purchase to either Family Circle or Parents magazine, while supplies last. To receive your gift card and bonus gift, present receipts dated August 12-13, 2011 between 10am-9pm at the redemption location – Center Court.
2011 Tax Holiday – August 12th-14th
The three-day tax exemption begins August 12th and goes through August 14th. This applies to eligible clothing items selling for less than $75 and to certain school supply items priced at $15 or less.
“Clothing” means any article of wearing apparel, including all footwear (except skis, swim fins, roller blades,and skates) intended to be worn on or about the human body. However, “clothing” does not include watches, watchbands, jewelry, umbrellas, handkerchiefs, or sporting equipment.
“School supplies” means pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, notebooks, notebook filler paper, legal pads, binders, lunch boxes, construction paper, markers, folders, poster board, composition books, poster paper, scissors, cellophane tape, glue, paste, rulers, computer disks, protractors, compasses, and calculators.
Back to School Social at the Hastings Library- August 18th at 5pm
All ages are invited for food, games, and a school supply giveaway. The library will also be giving information on how they can help students succeed in school.

Inaugural Back2School Beach Fest – August 20th:: 11am-3pm
This event for school-aged kids and their families will be held on St. Augustine Beach between the Matanzas Ave. and Mart Street access ramps and at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The festivities will continue at 3pm with an Oceans Expo at the Amphitheatre. The day will end with a series of movie screenings at 6:30, and at 7:30 a showing of “Turtle: The Incredible Journey”.
