The feature film “The Great Gatsby” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire will be filming for 17 weeks beginning mid-late September 2011 near Sydney and Moore Park, New South Wales, Australia. The casting directors are casting supporting roles, day players, extras, photo doubles, and stand-ins to work various dates during production. Over 400 cast and crew are being employed during principal photography.
Academy Award nominee Baz Luhrmann is directing “The Great Gatsby” from a screenplay that he wrote with Craig Pearce. Luhrman is also producing with his Luhrmann/Bazmark Films partners Catherine Martin (who is also his wife) and Catherine Knapman, and Red Wagon partners Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher. Luhrmann has decided that he wants to shoot “The Great Gatsby” in 3D, and it has become one of the hottest upcoming films in Hollywood.
