The Springfield Regional Arts Council, in partnership with The Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Association, invites artists to join this celebration by exhibiting work directly related to Wilson’s Creek. The exhibition, which is slated to feature the work of local artist Dave Garner, will take place on the grounds of Wilson’s Creek during their anniversary reenactment. The exhibition space will be a tent. Rope will be hung in the interior of the tent and the work will be clipped to the rope. Work should illustrate elements of the battle itself, or be contemporary in nature, inspired by the history and landscape of the Wilson’s Creek.
Artists of all ages are encouraged to exhibit work. Artists may price their artwork for sale, and keep 100% of the purchase amount. Work should be delivered to Wilson’s Creek on Wednesday, August 12 by 4 p.m. and must be collected after the exhibit, by 10pm on Sunday, August 14

Quilts for Joplin
“A quilt is made with love and each one has a story. The talented quilters at the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild are busy stitching quilts for the tornado victims in Joplin. Each of these quilts will tell a story of the compassion and support of the people in the four state area.” If you have quilts to donate, bring them to the guild building any Tuesday between 9am – 4pm. The guild building is located in the Village Shopping Center, 2738 S. Campbell, Springfield, MO.
They are accepting nice, new homemade quilts. Please donate only quilts that you would be pleased to receive yourself. They will be stored at the guild building until it is cooler and then delivered to Joplin.
