The high in Atlanta yesterday was a perfectly average 90, but WSB meteorologist Kirk Mellish says; “a new heat wave starts today and lasts through next week”. Today the chance of a thunderstorm is “about as low as it gets in summer in Atlanta”. But Mellish says the chance of a thunderstorm returns to normal tomorrow into Monday.

Sunday: Blend of sun and clouds very hot and steamy with a 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms afternoon and evening, high near 95 lows 73-77.
Monday: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm, high 93 lows 71-75.
Tuesday: Mostly to partly sunny and very hot, high 94 lows 72-77.
