In more charity news, RA Sushi in Atlanta raised more than $9,800 for St. Jude’s Hospital as part of its corporate Nicky’s Week program. The restaurant also received more than $1,400 in donations from its patrons. RA Sushi has raised more than $943,000 for St. Jude since initiating Nicky’s Week in 2005, and the company far exceeded the 2011 goal of $125,000 by raising more than $218,000 this year.

Ray’s at Killer Creek will offer “Pig & Pinot” on Saturday, July 23, at Ray’s on the River under the tent from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $35 per person and includes a tasting of five pinot varieties, as well as a selection of pork-inspired dishes including a slow-roasted whole pig, fingerling potato salad with warm bacon vinaigrette, bacon fat fried potato chips, Caesar salad with pork rind croutons, pork belly tacos and bacon bit brownies. There will be a silent auction and raffle to benefit the Primus Sanders Foundation.
